My Bubble-World
I think I stayed in my Thanksgiving food coma a liiittle too long, and now all I want to do is cuddle up by the fire (which I don’t have, because I live in a Manhattan apartment) and read books and watch movies. In my perfect Bubble-World, here is what I would do:
Wake up and take a shower with HOT water (really, is that so much to ask?), then stroll down to the Silver Moon Bakery for something yummy that I never treat myself to, like a croissant or brioche. And a big cup of ginger-peach tea to go with it.
Then it’s back home, and onto the sofa, with a big chenille blanket (I don’t actually have one, but this is my Bubble-World, so it doesn’t really matter).
Like most people, my book list is a mile long, but I think I’d start my morning off with Or Not by Brian Mandabach. He is a total weirdo, but very cool, and his book looks really witty and fun and easy to relate to.
I’m also reading The Other Boleyn Girl, because winter always puts me in the mood for period dramas. They’re turning it into a movie soon, so I better finish it quick. Although, I’m not sure about the movie. I like Natalie Portman, and I more-or-less like Scarlett Johansen, but (in the beginning of the book, at least) she’s supposed to be about 13—uuuuh, I don’t think so.
Speaking of movies, after all this reading I think I’ll put down the books and watch one. In my Bubble-World, nothing is better on a cozy day than watching a Jane Austen movie, like the new Pride & Prejudice with Keira Knightly. Nothing warms you up like one of the greatest love stories of all time.
I would totally watch the new Harry Potter, 
but I don’t think it’s out on DVD yet, damn!
In that case, maybe I’ll try another classic book-turned-movie, like To Kill A Mockingbird. If you haven’t seen and/or read it, you should. Both the book and the movie always make me cry.
After watching a heartbreaking movie, I definitely think I’d need some comfort food, and what better place to go than S’MAC, the restaurant entirely devoted to mac & cheese. That’s right folks: heaven has arrived.
Oh, and did I mention that while all this was happening in my Bubble-World, I was wearing this incredibly gorgeous $2200 chiffon dress by Alberta Ferretti? I am in love with the scalloped detailing and the colors. 
Yes, a couple people were staring at me while I ate gooey macaroni and cheese in a 2000 dollar dress, and it made the cuddling-under-some-blankets part a little less comfy/cozy, but hey, that’s how I roll! haha.

omfg that is my dream day too
i’m so jealous that you live in nyc and have all of those awesome options like mac and cheese restaurants and real bakerys, the only bakery i have is this shitty little hole in the wall called taste of scandanavia- honestly there is no taste in scandanavia why the hell would you open up a bakery devoted to it!? 
aww reading it’s like the only thing other than holiday drinks that gets me through the day haha, currently i’m reading a book called “lulu meets god and doubts him” it’s abou the nyc contemporary art world, it’s pretty witty, full of hotties, and intriguing people
movies, also my other lover, i’ve seen about 10 in theaters just this fall, i’m a bit insane that or i just have a little too much time on my hands during the weekends. pride and prejudice- omg the gorgeous music and mr. darcy, sigh, gets me every time! harry potter 5 kicked ass, cannot wait for it to come out

Love the dress, love To Kill A Mockingbird, and I think it goes without saying I love mac and cheese.
I was also in a Henry VIII mood as I just watched The Tudors and I can tell you, the Anne Boleyn chick in that was not 13 either - but honestly, it would be kiddie porn if they used actors of the correct age.

I just saw the new P & P, and I luurrrve Kiera Knightly, but I’ve gotta say that the BBC miniseries is my still my favorite. And my wife can’t get enough of Colin Firth.

I’m back! I still need to blog all about budapest but I will soon dearie. Um, I LOVE smac and supermac (which is by my work and oh so dangerous). there is nothing like mac and cheese. ahhh sigh, I want a bubble world like yours

I find it amazing that I haven’t run into you yet. I LIVE at the Silver Moon Bakery. And sweet God that dress is hot. I wore a sweatshirt to Thanksgiving dinner. A big one. More room for the deliciousness.

I loved the Other Boleyn Girl….I think the movie will be great, yes they are very young at the beginning of the book but that is not for too long (crosses fingers)
also, To Kill a Mockingbird is on our shelf right now, I have been in the mood for that, it’s one of my favorites….I was in the play too, Oh I just love it!

LOL. The chenille blanket sounds great. Although, my Betty Boop throw does a good job. Totally agree with you on the movie choice of P&P. The dude who plays Darcy is totally hot! Or I’d watch Hairspray. The recent one (Zac E. is so cute!). But I wouldn’t be wearing an expensive dress. I’d be wearing an expensive sweat suit. From Juicy.

I can’t decide if being in a bubble world
means insulating the world from me.
I remember once locking up three
layers deep (front door to my building,
door to my flat and door to the bath).
The odd thing is I wasn’t hiding from the

Alex, I think the new Harry Potter is out on DVD now, and it has an excellent Extras section.
Personally, P&P on film for me has always meant the 1995 BBC miniseries, not the pap that Joe Wright put out in 2005- it’s ok if you didn’t know about the book, but I got very very tired of seeing Keira Knightley pout. And the director had absolutely no business telling off the BAFTA lot for not nominating her that year, even if the Oscar lot lost their heads. She’s pretty good in Atonement, though- that might warrant a nom this time.
