New Poll Topic!
Okay, I don’t really have anything to write today, so I thought I’d do one of my favorite things EVER: Take a poll! Yay. I think my favorite poll topic so far was “who’s your favorite villain” or “What two people, real or otherwise, would you like to see in a brawl?”
(If you haven’t answered either of these questions, please do, because I love to see the wacky sh*t everyone comes up with).
And the new Poll Topic…
drum roll please……..
What are your favorite song lyrics?
(whole song or just a line.)
Not the MOST original, but everyone must have an answer to this. Right?
I’m still thinking of mine…
ps-that’s just a random picture of my friend & me playing air-sax. We’re so good.

So I’ll cash my checks and place my bets
And hope I’ll always win
Even if I don’t I’m ***ked because

cool website alex, will have to wrack my brain for fave lyrics, but I’m listening to a really cool song at the mo called Turning Blue by The Swallows…
sister I’m turning blue,
i’m holding my breath for a dream gone dead,
kicking the Jones for you,
cos the truth don’t feel inside my head
sister I’m turning blue

” I got soul but I’m not a soldier” - all these things that i’ve done by The Killers
and
“You know it really wont surprise me
If you’re a wreck by the age of fourteen
The way you look
The way you look is fine
So often colour coordinated
your sister she’s an Eighties fan
But that’s alright
Have I told you so is mine
You say your life will be the death of you
Tell me, do you wash your hair in honey dew?
And long for all of them to fall in love with you
But they never do
Drinking vodka on the fly
Your mother has a watchful eye
So look out kid
She’s onto you this time
Run away to a bed and breakfast
Console yourself with the Reader’s Digest
Ringing the Yellow Pages all alone
You say your life will be the death of you
Tell me, do you wash your hair in honey dew?
And long for all of them to fall in love with you
But they never do
No they never do
I’m gonna tell you something good about yourself
I’ll say it now and I’ll never say it about no one else
I’m gonna tell you something good about yourself
I’ll say it now and I’ll never say it about no one else
About no one else”

Hmm… I have a lot of favorite villains. I love, love, love Shakespeare’s Iago. And Hannibal. And Frollo from the Hunchback. I sometimes love villains more than anything out of a story. They can be infinitely more interesting.
As for lyrics… my favorite one ever is tough to say. I think one of my favorite lyrics, that makes me sigh whenever I hear the words are Jann Arden’s “In Your Keeping.” Just a gorgeous and haunting song all around.
Tell me I will never die
Take away my pain
Rock me gently in your arms
Say that I’ll remain in your keeping
Brush the hair out of my face
Read me a good story
Kiss my fingertips goodnight
Long will I remain in your keeping
~In Your Keeping
*sigh*
Now I’m off to listen to it.
Love your blog!

Not my most favorite (which I can’t pinpoint), but still cool to me nonetheless.
INCUBUS Lyrics
Drive Lyrics
Sometimes I feel the fear of uncertainty stinging clear
And I can’t help but ask myself how much I’ll let the fear take the wheel and steer
It’s driven me before, it seems to have a vague
Haunting mass appeal
Lately I’m beginning to find that I should be the one behind the wheel
Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there, I’ll be there
So if I decide to waiver my chance to be one of the hive
Will I choose water over wine and hold my own and drive, oh oh
It’s driven me before, it seems to be the way
That everyone else get around
Lately, I’m beginning to find that when I drive myself, my light is found
Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah

anything to do with the beatles is always awesome.
and of course the lyrics to “we’re going to be friends” by the white stripes.
tonight i’ll dream while in my bed
and silly thoughts run through my head
about the bugs and alphabet
and when i wake tomorrow i’ll bet
that you and i can walk together again
’cause i can tell that we are going to be friends
totally memorized those lyrics, i loooove that song.

Dizzamn peeps! There is some really good shit here. And my music collection is about to expand because of it!
thanks for the responses.
Here’s mine, by Rilo Kiley:
And sometimes when you’re on
You’re really fucking on
And your friends they sing along
And they love you
But the lows are so extreme
That the good seems fucking cheap
And it teases you for weeks in its absence
But you’ll fight and you’ll make it through
You’ll fake it if you have to
And you’ll show up for work with a smile
I just love that song. And this one, too, by Magnetic Fields:
Don’t fall in love with me yet
We only recently met
True I’m in love with you but
you might decide I’m a nut
Give me a week or two to
go absolutely cuckoo
then, when you see your error,
then, you can flee in terror
like everybody else does
I only tell you this cause
I’m easy to get rid of
but not if you fall in love
Know now that I’m on the make
and if you make a mistake
my heart will certainly break
I’ll have to jump in a lake
and all my friends will blame you
There’s no telling what they’ll do
It’s only fair to tell you
I’m absolutely cuckoo

Wishing to be the friction in your jeans.

As Emma says, there’s a lot of rich material from Lennon & McCartney. Like:
Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
(”Imagine” — John Lennon)
It’s hard to improve on this:
You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog,
Cryin’ all the time,
You ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine.
(”Hound Dog” — Lieber & Stoller)
But this one from Lorenz Hart always sticks in my head:
You have what I lack myself,
Now I even have to scratch my back myself.
(”It Never Entered My Mind” — Lorenz Hart)

Hands down, my favorite villain would have to be Gogo from Kill Bill Vol. 1. I loved her look (school girl mixed with a little bit of cuckoo) and her fighting style was wicked…
As far as my favorite lyrics… that’s a tough one. I will definitely get back to you on that…
Love this inclusion post. Love you…
